How the Goodwill Life Cycle Operates A life cycle can be defined as a continuous sequence of changes.
Donation - You may not think of your unworn clothes as having a life cycle, but they do, and it starts as soon as you drop them off at a Goodwill donation centre or at your local Goodwill store. Retail Sales - The items are sorted by Goodwill employees who will price them and place them on the racks to be bought by savvy shoppers. Employment Training & Counselling - The money from the sale of your gently used clothing and household items doesn't just disappear into someone's pocket or into a corporation's coffers. It's funnelled into providing people who have employment barriers with the training they need to be able to acquire gainful employment. Job Placement & Creation - As a result of the work experience gained at a Goodwill store, or through participation in employment training programs, clients are prepared to get the skills and the self-confidence to obtain - and keep - employment. Donating to Goodwill Industries - Essex Kent Lambton and setting the life cycle in motion is like tossing a pebble into a pond - it's a small act, but it's one that creates big ripples. |
